This position will support bioanalysis, in vitro ADME studies, formulation, for lead/development compounds in support of Cytokinetics’ discovery and development programs. We are looking for a motivated critical thinker who will conduct established in vitro ADME assays and bioanalytical analysis as well as assist in the development and validation of in vitro and ex vivo assays to characterize pharmaceutical and ADME properties of small molecule therapeutics. The individual will participate as a team member and collaborator multi-disciplinary departments to contribute to a research effort to validate assays in the areas of drug absorption, metabolism, elimination, clearance and drug-drug interactions.

• Prepare biological samples using different extraction techniques

• Analyze biological samples and analytical samples by LC-MS/MS and HPLC

• Design and execute standard ADME assays

• Participate in scientific discussions at department/ meetings

• Present experimental data at project meetings

• Willingness to learn and master advanced automation as applied to ADME

• Determination to pioneer and develop new and relevant in vitro assays to address Program needs

• BA/BS/MS in relevant field with 2+ years of experience in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics within a pharmaceutical company preferred or academic equivalent

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with LC-MS operation (experience with ABSciex/LTQ-Orbitrap a plus)

• A solid knowledge and hands-on experience with in vitro DMPK assays is preferred

• Familiarity with a range of laboratory automation instrumentation including robotic liquid handlers - Mechanically inclined

• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-based environment is essential
