As a member of the DMPK department, you will conduct laboratory experiments (biochemical or cell-based) and bioanalysis (LC/MS and other methods), interpret data, and contribute to understanding of the ADME properties of small molecules or therapeutic proteins.

Essential Functions:

  • You will perform biochemical or cell-based assays to mechanistically investigate specific ADME issues
  • Under general supervision, you will design and execute complex experiments using appropriately selected methods and techniques to support routine research activities and project goals
  • You will prioritize a diverse workload with strong time management skills
  • You will work productively in cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills
  • You will communicate scientific results verbally and in writing
  • You are team-oriented, enthusiastic, and flexible

Qualifications/Experience:

BS degree with 2+ years or MS degree in pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related experience in industry or academia. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and technical) and interpersonal skills are required.  Below is a broad list of skills and experience that are desirable. The successful candidate may have a subset of the skills listed but willing to learn.

  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience working with biochemical assays, recombinant cell lines, primary cells, and human/animal samples; experience with primary hepatocytes (culture and/or suspension) preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize assays as needed; identifying and applying novel techniques or protocols from reports in the scientific literature
  • Hands-on experience with quantitative analysis techniques with preference for HPLC-tandem mass spectrometric (LC-MS/MS) analysis
  • Measurement of therapeutic proteins using ELISA, MSD or related techniques is required
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with basic data analysis programs (Excel, Graphpad Prism, etc.)
  • General knowledge of drug disposition processes for small molecules or therapeutic proteins
